SOUTH SALT LAKE

Many Artists. One Community.

The Arts Council has a mission to unite the South Salt Lake community through art. Every year we support local artists by seeking out and creating art opportunities for them to showcase their craft. In doing so, we open the door to residents and non-residents in SSL, providing easy access to amazing art classes, local arts events, art volunteer opportunities, and local professional artists. From murals on our local businesses to our art classes, South Salt Lake is celebrating our community's creative side and local pride. Our projects have a positive impact on the at-large community, increasing property values, contributing to our city's economic development, generating awareness about our existing cultural assets, fostering creative approaches to innovative growth, making arts experiences accessible, and creating a shared sense of pride.

The South Salt Lake Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible.

Community Voices: Shaping the Future of Art in South Salt Lake

In our January newsletter, we reached out to you—our neighbors and creators—to help steer the future of the South Salt Lake Arts Council. We asked five key questions about the types of programming you crave and where you want to see it happen.

We want to share the results from our responses. These insights are already helping us plan an incredible year of creativity!

What We’ve Heard So Far

The feedback has been inspiring! Here is a look at the current trends from your neighbors:

  • Creative Classes: There is a strong appetite for Visual Arts

  • Live Performances: You told us you want more Music Festivals to bring our streets to life.

  • Art Installations: The community is leaning toward Traditional Art Galleries that make art part of the daily commute.

  • Artist Support: A priority for many is Funding Opportunities for Artists to keep our local talent thriving.

  • Location: Parks and Outdoor Venues is currently the favorite spot for upcoming events.

Uniting Our Community Through Art.

Our Mission_South Salt Lake Arts Council

Our Mission

The South Salt Lake Arts Council works to unite our community through art. We strive to support local artists, provide engaging opportunities for our residents to participate in the arts, contribute to our city's economic development by generating awareness about our existing cultural assets, and foster creative approaches to innovative growth that will remain true to the artisan and industrial character of South Salt Lake.

Over the years, the South Salt Lake Arts Council has sponsored arts and cultural activities to provide our residence with opportunities to engage in the creative process. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organized and managed by the City of South Salt Lake with a volunteer board of Directors. We work closely with the community and city government departments to bring art into the lives of everyone who lives, works, worships, or plays in South Salt Lake.
