About the event
In this series of eight classes, participants will learn and practice using the elements of design – color, texture, value, shape, and line – to express something beyond perception. Using those elements and water media, how does one express joy? Hope? Sadness? Fear? Confusion? This exploration invites collaboration, discussion, and story sharing, which is ideal for a small group of age-55+ participants.
Participants will learn and practice:
Using shape, color, line, texture and value to communicate emotions
Composing an abstract (non-representational) painting intuitively
Assessing their artwork and adjusting the composition to better communicate their intent
How to “read” others’ paintings and give helpful feedback
