A Celebration of Community, Culture & Kindness

Each year on the 4th of July, South Salt Lake gathers to celebrate Independence Day with a small-town parade, flag ceremony, and a vibrant community celebration in Fitts Park. This year, the South Salt Lake Arts Council proudly announces a renewed focus on cultural performances—reflecting the voices, heritage, and traditions of our diverse community.

With a theme of "The Power of Kindness", this year’s Freedom Fest honors both our national values and the richness of local cultures through music, dance, and storytellingThe South Salt Lake Arts Council is proud to support a more inclusive lineup this year—featuring performers who honor and celebrate their cultural roots. Your feedback shaped this year’s entertainment, and we’re committed to continuing that dialogue and expanding our celebration of heritage, identity, and shared community.

🎇 Let’s come together to celebrate freedom, kindness, and culture.
We hope to see you at South Salt Lake's Freedom Fest 2025!

Many Artists - One Community

The Arts Council has a mission to unite the South Salt Lake community through art. Every year we support local artists by seeking out and creating opportunities for them to showcase their craft. In doing so, we open the door to everyone else in SSL, providing easy access to amazing art and artists - from murals on our local businesses to our art classes! Finally, our projects have a positive impact on the at-large community, increasing property values and creating a shared sense of pride within our city.

The South Salt Lake Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) organization.  Your donation is tax deductible.
